My basic thesis is that we have all the technology we need already to solve the climate crisis and live in harmony with nature. We just have to notice this and get on with it.
If you're well off then great, you can just buy your way to ecological harmony (food, home improvements, etc.)
If not, then the challenge is to make money while harmonizing with nature.
So how do we do that?
One of the simplest and easiest things you can do is to start a compost bin. It converts trash (food scraps, cardboard, etc.) into compost, so it saves money (on the garbage bill) and creates a valuable resource (compost) that you can sell or use to grow plants.
Somewhat more involved but still pretty easy and simple is to make your own fuel.
Anything with starch or sugar in it can be fermented to make alcohol, which is a very excellent fuel: it burns clean, it is carbon-neutral, and you can put it in your car (with suitable modifications, which are simple and easy.) It can be made from food waste and the byproducts are valuable animal feed.
Instead of buying fossil fuel you can make (and even sell) alcohol fuel.
